During therapy and even during regular life, couples have many stressors they deal with day to day. In this skill, I cover a specific approach that helps couples discuss their stressors more respectfully. Essentially, you set aside time to focus on and resolve one issue and make sure you both are okay. Once nice thing about the relationship check-in is that it gives you a way to compartmentalize your problems as well. You deal with things directly, then you put them aside so you live your life.
