Most people treat desire like a feeling that comes and goes on a whim. As a result, they only act on their sexual urges when the feeling is present and they avoid sex when the desire feeling is not present. The problem with treating desire this way is that we have many feelings that come and go throughout our days. We may never have the right timing to engage in desire. For some people, desire may not even come up as a feeling for them for days, weeks or even months.
