What problems do we solve?

I assist individuals and couples who are unhappy with their relationships and/or sex lives. The people I help want to change their lives and relationships for the better. They are coming to therapy because they could use a third party to help them find resolutions. Most of my clients have tried to reach compromises on their own for a while without getting results. My job is to help you achieve those results by developing a deeper understanding of the problems and offering action plans for creating change.

More specific problems I help include: communication issues, high conflict couples, infidelity, desire issues, orgasm problems, erectile dysfunction or premature ejaculation, painful sex, sexless marriages, problems parenting and co-parenting, problems with in-laws, financial issues, working through life transitions such as retirement, empty nesters, becoming new parents, becoming newlyweds, addiction problems, and anxiety/depression. I also commonly offer therapy to therapists, mental health providers, and medical professionals. You can come to therapy alone or with a partner.

What services do you offer for couples?

I offer a variety of options for treatment. If you are a couple that is incredibly busy and needs a fast track to resolutions, then you will likely benefit from Couples Intensives. These are one day and two day long treatments that are meant to get a lot done in a short amount of time. For more detailed information, visit the Couples Intensives Page.

For couples who are more interested in traditional weekly therapy, you can choose from either 45 minute weekly sessions or 1.5 hour sessions every other week. For more detailed information about couples therapy, you can visit the Marriage Therapy page, the Pre-Marital Therapy Page, or the Sex Therapy Page.

What are the prices for the different services?

Private Pay Only. Prices range depending on the length of the session. For more detailed information on pricing you can visit the FAQ Page. I am still willing to bill your insurance out of network for the session fees, but you are ultimately responsible for the cost of each session.

What do typical sessions entail?

Therapy and counseling are a collaborative process between the client and the therapist. During your first one or two sessions, your therapist will set goals for what you want to accomplish during therapy. Your therapist will seek an understanding (assessment) of you and your family’s needs, challenges, history and values in order to create an effective, individualized plan for your treatment.

After getting on the same page about the plan, sessions focus on building skills that help you live a more fulfilling life. You can expect some sessions to cover specific issues you are going through in the moment, and other sessions that focus more on life skills such as parent coaching, sexual education, better conflict resolution, relationship building, boundary setting, etc. In between sessions, I also offer articles, podcasts or videos to watch that are relevant to the problem you are tackling.

Ultimately, therapy is about helping you achieve the quality of life you desire. You decide what is covered in therapy, and you decide how to get the most out of your sessions. I will help by offering motivation, giving specific strategies to improve the situation, and homework assignments designed to help you follow through with your goals. If you would like to make an appointment, please fill out a contact form.
